Entrepreneur & Founder- Rajyalakshmi Heritage Banaras Sarees.
Rajyalakshmi is the face of the venture that brings to the fore the most authentic Banarasi silk sarees. Her passion for the purest weave takes her all the way to Banaras often, and she brings with her only the choicest sarees personally designed by her. Her collection reflects a wide variety in weaves, colours and textures and caters to the tastes of the contemporary Indian woman.
Born to a family of businessmen she carries the entrepreneurial spirit within her. Educated at the prestigious Indian School of Business, she was one of the two selected from India for the elite 5S Corporate management course from Osaka, Japan. This helps her create and manage systematic work places and is a huge plus on her organaising skills, was also nominated for Indiamart, Leaders of Tomorrow, for Women Entrepreneur Award.
Before she ventured out on her own Rajyalakshmi was one of the Directors and responsible for corporate communication at Gubba Cold Storage. The 9 years spent here were extensive experience into the ways of the business. The need to go solo was strong and what better, she thought, than to follow her passion. Thus Rajyalakshmi Heritage Banaras Sarees started and she retails exclusive handpicked Banarasi silk sarees from her home. A further drive to promote the Banarasi saree came from the fact that she saw this exquisite fabric that had survived since the Mughal era was on the verge of being wiped out by easily available silks. The artisans weaving the saree were in a pitiable state and she lapped up the opportunity to fill in the demand supply gap. It is a win-win situation for all she believes.
She lives in Hyderabad with her husband, Prashant Gubba and is a hands-on mother to two kids. She loves to cook, travel and listen to soul stirring music in her free time. But most of all she loves the Banarasi saree and is passionate about making it a trousseau must have for every bride. She is on a mission to weave together tradition and fashion.
Reviving Heritage. Empowering weavers. Creating amazing Sarees.
